12/14/2023 0 Comments Tra di noi malibu![]() We were first seated in 1 section that was really hot with no air, and asked to be moved, which they were more than happy to do. Very tasty and not too heavy as Italian food can often be People: your typical Malibu crowd which is older, typical yuppy, with a few younger types running around Service: friendly and very accommodating. Indoors is not nearly as desirable as the seating arrangements are kind of cheap and dated. The outside patio is really nice and very personal and romantic. And here’s the 3PS: Place: in the Malibu Lumber Yard. The real demand is for sitting outside especially in the summer, so you have to make reservations ahead in advance for this section. Ordered the prosciutto pizza and the lasagna bolognese with tiramisu for dessert and all were delectable. Italian is usually the last type of food that I get all jazzed up about because it’s so ordinary, but the previous stars on this restaurant were well merited. I thoroughly enjoyed the food at this place. ![]() After making a special effort not to eat here for years I’m a convert - now I’ll be making a special effort to return. The tab was reasonable and the service was spot-on. Our party had several different dishes - including a special pasta of the day, a large salad and the whitefish and they were all absolutely delicious. If you enjoy uncommonly prepared dishes that riff on what you are familiar with order the calamari (it’s prepared with some magic balsamic and honey mixture that is just fantastic) and if you enjoy a comfortable and rush-free dinner with friends where you can speak at conversational tones instead of shouting, make plans to dine here. If you enjoy outdoor dining call the restaurant (don’t just make reservations on OpenTable) to make sure they save you a seat on the delightful patio. They’ve upgraded the outdoor furniture, the service and the food. Parking is easy and what can I say, it’s Malibu, one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Malibu, I love you!Īfter years of avoiding this restaurant following a couple of bad experiences coupled by unnecessarily large tabs I was convinced to return by a couple of foodie friends. As I have repeatedly mentioned in all of my reviews, a huge thumbs up for places where spice is a choice and not forced! This puts Tra di Noi to the top of the list of my «to go places»!! Tra di Noi has both indoor and outdoor seating with excellent relaxing family atmosphere where kids are welcome. Every dish was cooked to perfection and absolutely DELISH! A little olive oil with some sea salt, I am in heaven. Without the heavy power of the garlic and onions, we were able to truly taste what the freshest food should really taste like. We specifically requested for NO GARLIC and NO ONIONS, and they were able to accommodate without hesitation. We had the dungenous crab cake app, lobster Cesar salad and the shrimp and cr. We had ice tea and Arnold Palmer for drinks since we needed to drive responsibly to see the Andy Warhol art exhibit after. Moonshadows 732 reviews Closes in 21 min American, Seafood Menu We had grain salad with chicken, free range chicken with mashed potatoes and. We had the Pizza Vegetarian ($ 19), Tuscan Kale salad with dressing on the side ($ 18), Fettuccine Arago ($ 28) and the Pomodoro spaghetti home made ($ 20. For a party of 4, we shared the following dishes. They use the freshest ingredients, and I am just so weak when it comes to places such as this! Truly, everything on the menu is delicious, so let’s get on with what we ordered. The fowl is almost as health conscious as the salmon and fish of the day, each attentively prepared with low-fat patrons in mind.On our way to see the Andy Warhol’s exhibit at the Frederick R Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University, we decided to stop by Tra di Noi ( TDN) which I haven’t been there for a while. The steak filet is tender and succulent lending an almost French red wine sauce drizzled over roasted vegetable. Entrees are best eaten with a pasta accompaniment, if possible splitting an entrée and pasta with a companion isn’t a bad suggestion. The salads consist of a classic Caesar with hand shaved Parmesan and assorted field greens of arugula, endive and organic lettuce. Raviolis comes with an assortment of fillings as simple as cheese and ricotta or as elaborate as lobster and wild mushroom. Pasta is handmade on the premises and it’s outstanding. Waiters stumble through the specials in broken Italian accents as water boys rush over with selected appetizers like flat bread and tampenade that even adults tend to eat too much of and ruin their meal. The maitre d greets guests like Lindsay Lohan, Harry Morton and Jim Carey by name, taking them to their favorite table outside on the 'preferable' patio or within the main dining room. By night it's one of the most romantic spots in LA as couple cuddle under stars with their favorite Cabernet. By day it is a casual beach restaurant with fussy Malibu types talking of Pinot Grigio and pizza.
